‘Switch Off Lights’ challenge

We are excited to share the success of our recent Switch Off Lights’ challenge, aimed at reducing energy consumption across our boarding houses. Pupils were challenged to turn off lights when not in use, particularly in common rooms and dorms, and their enthusiastic participation made the campaign a great success.

Thanks to the efforts of our Eco Reps, led by Cara and Cathy, we’ve identified our Eco Champions—students who excelled in ensuring lights were switched off. These champions will be recognized in Assembly and awarded 10 House/Divisional points for their commitment to sustainability, while the Eco Reps who carried out the audits will receive 5 points for their hard work.

Looking ahead, we are expanding this initiative across the entire school. After half term, we will be running a ‘Switch Off Fortnight’, where the whole school site will be monitored to ensure energy-saving practices are being followed. To support this, we will also be placing reminder stickers on light switches around the campus.

We are excited to see the whole school community get involved in reducing energy use, as we continue working towards a greener, more sustainable future!
