Our 2nd MINTED Sale

Our Minted brand is all about sustainability projects supporting sustainability-focused charities.

Our first Minted initiative, selling preloved Christmas jumpers, raised funds for hundreds of grow bags of food plants, enough to feed 23 families living below the poverty line, being cultivated in the north of Sri Lanka.

So, knowing World Book Day was on the horizon gave rise to another idea… this time, a sale of pre-loved fancy-dress costumes prior to World Book Day in March. Minted Sale 2 was born!

We were overwhelmed by how many pupils donated costumes for the cause; so many that all our Early Years, Infant and Lower Junior School pupils had the opportunity to peruse our sale and buy a costume! As you can see from some of our photos, we had lots of very happy customers.

By giving pre-loved costumes a new lease of life, rather than buying new ones, we have raised a further £867, with 100% of all the funds we raised being donated to the same award-winning sustainable farm in Sri Lanka, who are very thankful for the help we give them.

Having also raised money for Birmingham Hospice through our non-uniform day at the end of last half term, we donated all unsold costumes to their local Charity Shops, generating further funds for their hospices in the local Birmingham area.

Ideas are already afloat for Minted Sale 3… watch this space!
