Learning about foraging

Earlier this year, we welcomed George Linklater to Caldecott School.

George is a professional forager and conservationist, He manages eco projects across the country, as well as running a successful business called On The Wild's Side.

George led a series of walks for our secondary students, around the Foundation's grounds as well as off-site.

He introduced our students to a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife on our doorstep, as well as some useful and wise information about foraging for food. One of our KS3 students took her form tutor on a walk the next day and recalled all she had learnt.

We hope to welcome George back in the Autumn, to teach us about fungi. Thank you for a fascinating day!
