Eton Boys Raise £2,600 in Ultramarathon Fundraiser Run for Charity
Eton students Thomas, Andrew and Adi recently ran an ultramarathon for charity, raising £2,600 in the process. An ultramarathon is a 50-kilometre run, but because two of the boys are underage and so not allowed to run a full 50 kilometres, they split the distance and each ran 25 kilometres for a joint ultramarathon. The oldest of the boys was able to do a longer distance.
All three are rowers and ran in support of Love Rowing, a UK charity. Love Rowing makes the sport accessible for those living with disabilities and for young people from deprived areas, with the understanding that rowing transforms lives. Thomas says, “Rowing improves physical and mental well-being, builds community, and opens doors to opportunity”.
Through their fundraising run, the boys hope to empower others to benefit from the sport that they love.
