Bird Watch
This term the Eco Team have been looking out for birds around the school site so that we could take part in the Big School Bird Watch. This national bird-watching campaign is run by the RSPB and encourages schools to record the birds that they see around their schools. Moreton Hall was one of thousands of schools around the UK that took part in this.
From the familiar sight of jackdaws around Pilkington to the robin that visits the feeders by the Cycle Shelter, we all enjoy seeing the birds around and this campaign is a good opportunity to look a little harder and learn a little more about them.
In the Library, Mrs Carr made a special Big School Birdwatch station so that everyone, not just the Eco Team could take part. In Moreton Prep, Mrs Swain led her keen birdwatchers around the grounds on bird spotting walks using binoculars to help identify birds that flew away when the enthusiastic pupils were on their tour.
We hope that everyone who took part enjoyed learning more about our local birds and that now we will all take more notice when one flies past!
