Penryn College - An opportunity for enterprise from our Organic Farm - Mission Update!
As part of the development of the 'Living Classroom' at Penryn students are currently involved in designing and planning our organic farm. From next year this will produce for the students a significant amount of fruit and vegetables. So what do we do with all this produce?Step in the business students and our enterprise project at Penryn College. All of next years business studies students were invited to attend a business event to launch the Farm Enterprise Project. Over the next two years these students will be taking charge of the farm business to sell the produce from the farm. Through a process of Apprentice style elimination over the next 6 months the group will be wittled down to a core of 6 students who will become the board of the company. Our speaker for the day was Matt Hocking of Leap Design in St Austell who came in to take the students through the design for an identity and logo for the Enterprise scheme. Matts passion is also sustainable business and he took the studennts through the importance of sustainable practices throughout every part of their business. The next event is for Matt to meet the design team and turn some of the students ideas into a commercial identity for the project.
