Damers First School and Thomas Hardye School - CPRE Green Clean

Meadow 3 from Damers First School  worked with Year 9, 10 and 11 students from The Thomas Hardye School to take part in a green clean organised by Campaign to Protect Rural England and Litter Free Dorset. The green clean runs for a month across the UK promoting awareness for a deposit return system to be put in place all all drinking containers. CPRE challenged the children and students to find as many plastic bottles and cans as they could.  The children and students walked from Damers First School to Hardyes picking up litter.  In an hour and a half  they had collected 59 plastic bottles and cans which was considerably better than last years 156 which shows things are being done by environmental groups and the local community to reduce litter in the area.  These figures will go towards a report that will be given to environment Secretary Theresa Villiers.
