West Gate School fruits

Students have had great fun whilst working really really hard to plant up our fruits area on the school allotment.

Since March this year we have worked very hard every Thursday to plant our lovely apple tree.... and harvested one apple this year!

And after planting our little blackberry bush, after summer, we harvested a bounty crop!

Here’s hoping for some raspberries next year…. fingers crossed!

And we found a lovely little lemon verbena herb plant which we planted out in our herb garden area and look how beautiful it is…and smells like lemon sherbet!

Lastly…. a great big thank you to Roots & Shoots for making all this possible and getting us some nice clean gloves and super spades for tiny hands!

Thank you from the gardening gang at West Gate School allotment ?
