From the allotment to the kitchen...

At Caldecott School, we are proud to integrate Land-Based Studies lessons into our curriculum. Our students learn about fruits and vegetables, safe and healthy growing techniques, and how to be part of nature.Recently, our Land Based Studies classes have been growing a lot of different veg from seeds, and our students had the chance to taste it. Our kitchen staff prepared a very delicious stuffed marrow recipe with ingredients from our gardens, and students were able to taste the results – seeing how fresh food moves from the ground all the way to their stomachs! We are very proud of the way we work together to showcase to our students how this all works together, and the fact we can provide fresh, healthy food from our own grounds to the kitchen means we also promote healthy living and good cooking.
