Featured activity: Where does your food come from?
This activity is one of our Iceworld Activities, and is about looking at the food we eat and where it comes from - AKA food miles. The further food travels to get from where it's grown to our dinner plate, the more energy had gone into moving it - which means more CO2 pumped into the environment, and other pollutants too. The distance our food travels from A to B are referred to as Food Miles. This activity is all about looking at the food miles our food has, and exploring how this might be reduced by eating local, seasonal produce. If we can reduce the food miles in our diet, and try to eat local, eat seasonal, and reduce food waste, it can help make a big difference to the environment.Read more about and download this activity »
