Celebrating 50 Years of Earth Day at TASIS England School
TASIS England's Roots & Shoots Club and the whole of the Middle School have planted a Silver Birch tree at school dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.The students spoke with the head gardener at school and asked about the possibility of planting a tree to mark the occasion. She told us that recently a Silver Birch tree by our science building had died. She asked us if we wished to plant a new tree and we were thrilled to be able to say yes! The Roots & Shoots Club members prepared the ground where the tree was to be planted. Then, on the day before school had to break up due to all schools closing, the Middle School students along with the Roots & Shoots Club members, gathered to plant the tree. A plaque was placed by the tree as a dedication. It reads- TASIS ROOTS & SHOOTS CLUB together with TASIS MIDDLE SCHOOL celebrate 50 YEARS OF EARTH DAY Tree dedication Spring 2020.We were glad to be able to complete this project while we were still in school!
