UCL Roots & Shoots workshop at Stroud Green Primary School

Written by: Stroud Green Primary School

Year 3 took part in a Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots workshop delivered by the UCL Roots & Shoots Team. Students learnt about why nature and conservation is so important, and discussed how they could personally make changes to help save the environment.

They took part in a few interactive, hands-on activities. The children had the opportunity to make their own watering cans out of old plastic bottles, to give them a new purpose. Furthermore, the children decorated used toilet rolls, before folding the ends so they were sealed. They then sprinkled in some soil and planted a seed. The children also made lava lamps out of recyclables.

The children had a fantastic time and were very excited by their creations. We would like to thank the UCL Roots & Shoots team for preparing and delivering the workshops, and for coming up with great hands on activities.
