Walhampton's wildflower meadow for Roots & Shoots

We came back to school to a riot of colour in our new wildflower meadow. After some back breaking ground preparation, and careful seed sowing of a blend of annual and perennial wild flowers we watched and waited - and let nature take charge for the holidays. The transformation of the rough grass bank by the Astro was stunning - the bees were buzzing busily - and the icing on the cake was to receive the Bees Needs Commendation!Huge thanks to Gill Hickman who came to get us growing.IMG_0752 IMG_0751
