Walhampton pupils find out how District Council supports the homeless

Walhampton pupils are not only learners but also compassionate citizens of the world.

Recently, Mr. Timms’ English class embarked on a meaningful journey of empathy and advocacy as they delved into the issue of homelessness. Inspired by their learning, our Y7s poured their hearts into crafting persuasive letters to the New Forest District Council, urging them to do more to support the homeless in our community. Their words were not just ink on paper; they were a powerful call to action driven by empathy and a desire for positive change.

In response to their heartfelt pleas, we were honoured to host three esteemed colleagues from New Forest District Council who graciously took the time to enlighten our pupils about the council’s efforts to support the homeless. Their insights shed light on the ongoing initiatives and reinforced the importance of community collaboration in addressing such pressing social issues.

We’re immensely proud of Mr. Timms’ class for their advocacy and grateful to the New Forest District Council for their dedication to making a difference in the lives of the homeless.

Together, we can create a brighter future for all members of our community!
