Trash Plastic Day at Damers First School
Trash Plastic Day took place on Friday 11th May. It was part of the school's campaign to achieve Plastic Free Status. The whole school took part with many film clips being shown about what plastic can do to our wild life as well as the environment. Children came up with many ideas about what they could use instead of plastic. For example stainless steel or paper straws, compostable cutlery, reusable stainless steel bottles and lunchboxes.
We will be working together as a school to become plastic free. Steps have already been taken in the kitchen with compostable spoons given out to children who forget their spoons. The PTA have held their first plastic free disco.
