The Long Eaton School Swim the English Channel for Water for the World
On Saturday 24th March staff, parents and students of the Long Eaton School took to the water, as part of their annual ECO-Interact sponsored swim in aid of Water for the World and to mark World Water Day. The event, held at West Park Leisure Centre, involved the completion of over 1,700 lengths of the pool which is equivalent to swimming from England to France.Sponsorship money raised will go towards building a ‘Deep Bore Well’ in Uganda with the Busoga Trust. This will bring much needed fresh water to a community where it is really needed. The Rotary Club of Long Eaton Interactor President Molly Elliott and Interactor Daisy Kelsey did a presentation to the whole school regarding the need for clean water in Uganda.
