Small people rock!

Here at Milford pre school, we are very proud of all the amazing things the children do and learn about. Their young age is no barrier, in fact their innocence and thirst for learning is such a positivity. We are rhs level 5 school gardening award holders, and more recently were thrilled to be awarded our eco school green flag.  As part of our daily routine, the children recycle, reduce waste, care for our many birds by using nest boxes and various feeding birds and insects, compost and use the water butt, and learn about the environment and its impact on thier world. When appropriate we grow fruit and vegetables, pick and cook our produce, encourage insects with our wild flower areas, explore the pond and observe nature. We share our learning with the community, opening our garden regularly for parents and as part of the village garden open scheme, and show our produce in the village show, where we are regular winners! We enjoy meeting lots of experts into our pre school, showing us ways to recycle and compost, best way to point dip, how to use crop rotation for an organic garden and talk about fair trade. We alkso take part in scientific experiments, such as Brighton university bees and beans programs and rhs seeds from space. Young children can learn so much, given the right adult support and exciting activities, age is no barrier here!! Our allotment
