Roots & Shoots Bristol
UBRAS (University of Bristol Roots & Shoots) is a newly formed society here at Bristol University. We are made up of a small but passionate team encompassing Veterinary, Archeology, Anthropology, Zoology and Biology students- but we are a society open to any student studying any course who has an interest in primatology and conservation work.We meet twice a month. Our first step has been to link up with Jenny and Jimmy Desmond from the Liberia Chimp Project- who's incredible work with Chimpanzees we are supporting by fundraising through Primate and Conservation themed events. Our first event- a public screening of the successful Planet Earth 2, is planned for late March. In the future we are hoping to set up a link with the local Avon Wildlife Trust, as well as a local primary school to raise awareness of the important of conservation.
