North Lindsey College's Woodland Project - Mission Update!
Our college is lucky to have a small patch of woodland on site. We have worked to encourage wildlife into the woods by removing nettles and brambles which had overtaken a large area of the woodland. Now that it has been cleared, we hope that other woodland plants can flourish. We also made some bird boxes and put them up in the woods. We will monitor them for use. We've also made some feeding stations to put up in different areas of the college. We used old yoghurt pots and bottles to fill with bird cakes that we make ourselves. They look a little strange, but the birds appreciate them! Our next project is setting up an Easter treasure hunt for the young children who use the nursery here. We want to encourage them to enjoy the outside areas of college and visit the woodland too.
