Highfields Primary School - In Touch with Nature Project update
We are a very inner-city school where lots of the children don’t have access to outdoor space or have their own gardens. We have a small allotment where there are some things growing and it is used especially for growing some tomatoes and strawberries which we then get to eat! We would like to develop this area to be able to grow a greater variety of things but would also like to make it more inviting to bees and other insects by planting some bee friendly plants.A bigger bug hotel is planned for the Foundation Stage playground where children can get involved in the building of it as well as using it as an investigative area to support their outdoor continuous provision.
