Damers First School - Ridan Food Waste Composter

An Auction of Promises at Damers First School  was held in May to raise money for a Ridan Food Waste Composter which managed to raise the full amount needed.The Ridan is a fantastic way of educating children in composting and recycling. Any food waste can be placed in the Ridan which is a big container which sits on a stand above the ground and it takes 2 - 3 months for it to mature so it can be used on the garden. It is very child friendly and the children will be in charge of maintaining it with help from the Caretaker and Mr Moore.
