Be drastic about Plastic - St Mary's School Ascot
Plastic is used for lots of useful things that are convenient and cheap. Plastic has become part and parcel of human life for the last 100 years. There are many different types of plastic, made into all sorts of shapes, colours and sizes. During Science week at St Mary’s School Ascot, year 7 used the Roots & Shoots activity ‘My Pet Project’ to study the extent of damage to our natural environment caused by discarded and burnt plastic. Students created posters which are now displayed in the corridors of the School, explaining to the whole school community how animals’ lives are compromised by discarded plastics and how straightforward it is to reduce plastic in our daily routines.
